Health System

The region of Achaia offers a complete nursing and hospitalisation system of admiring level and quality.

• In Patras, there is the new, modern Regional University Hospital of Rio, the Regional State Hospital "Aghios Andreas", Karamandaneion Childrens’ Hospital, and The Thorax Diseases Hospital.
• General Hospitals are also situated in Aigio and Kalavryta
• There are Health Centers in Kato Achaia, Kleitoria, Erymantheia, Akrata and Chalandritsa.
• There is also a sanitary station in Dafni (Municipality of Patras)
• Community Clinics operate in many villages of the region, while the National Center of Immediate Help (EKAV) with the new, up-to-date ambulances provides and assures the immediate transport of patients, by dialling 166. For the northern part of Kalavryta the immediate help dialling number is 26920.22166. A wide network of private clinics, diagnostic centres and infirmaries operate along with those of public sector.
