Municipaliy of Kalavryta is a rapidly growing Region when it comes to tourism. It is full of monuments reminding the long history from Antiquity till nowadays, with middle stop in 1821, and a sad note in December 1943, at the Holocaust of Kalavryta by Germans.

Municipality of Kalavrita, with Martyr Kalavrita town as a capital, consists of the following departments: Kalavrita, Ano vlassia, Ano Lousoi, Valta, Bilvina, Goumenissa, Doumenoi, Drosato, Kallifonio, Kandalo, Kato Vlassia, Kato Zahlorou, Kato Lousoi, Kerpini, Kertezi, Korfes, Kouteli, Kryoneri, Lagovouni, Lapanagoi, Manesi, Mikros Pontias, Petsakoi, Plataniotissa, Priolithi, Profitis Ilias, Roges, Sigounio, skepasto, Trehlo and Flampoura.

Visitors will meet numerous archaeological, historical and religious monuments, such as: The Archaeological Site of Ancient Lousoi, The Sacrifice Point (Holocaust) of Kalavrita, the Historical Primary School, The Agia Layra monastery, where the 1821 Revolution flag was raised, the monastery of Mega Spilaio, the Monastery of Makellaria, the Monastery of Agios Nikolaos Vlassias, the Church of Panagia Plataniotissa and dozens of other ancient and recent monuments.

Vouraikos canyon and Odondotos Railway that crosses it, are of a superb beauty. Equally impressive is the Ski Centre of Kalavrita, which is a major tourist attraction.

Modern tourist units, a great deal of apartments, cafes, bars and restaurants corresponds to tourist current’s growing needs.

The Municipality may be mountainous –however, half an hour from Kalavryta, there are some really nice beaches of Korinthiakos Gulf, givin visitor the chance to combine mountain with sea.
