Horse Riding

Only 10 minutes away from Patras, at a green field of 12000 m2 Riding Association of Patraw (Riding School) offers its fully equipped settlements to beginners and proficient riders or simply to those who like good food, providing lunch to Association’s Restaurant, surrounded by dozens of horses.

Two coaches are responsible not only for beginners’ training but also for proficient’s participation in National Horse Races.

The Association was founded in 1979 is situated at Kourlambas location of municipality of Farres and the access is extremely easy from Patras-Chalandritsa road.

Achaia is also suitable for horse riding by the sea as well. Close to Kalogria beach there is ‘Activity Centre’ providing riding fields to beginners and skilled riders.

Jeep Safari

By jeep, excursions to Achaia become more explorative. For a daily safari one of the choices available is the route staring form Derveni and heading to Akrata, crossing Feneos, Zarouhla and Tsivlos.

Hunting

Achaia is also suitable for hunting. The 8.000 registered hunters of the region are a proof of that, having to choose from a wide range of chase. From hares, partridges, wild boars, turtledoves, quails and mistle thrushes, to woodcocks, blackbirds etc region’s fauna is extremely rich.

Hunting period is from 20 August till 28 February, with some restrictions when it comes to hare, partridge and wild boar hunting.

There are seven Hunting Associations in our Region (Patras, Kamares, Aigion, Akrata, Kalavryta, Kato Kleitoria, Kato Achaia).
